The Makita GPH01D XGT Hammer Drill/Driver is one tough drill and it’s handle grip just feels comfortable, a lot like their smaller 18V drills, It has a brushless motor which delivers 1,250 in.lbs. of Max Torque and that’s just one powerful motor and with the speed switch in the One position you get 41 settings and with the speed switch in the Two position you get 21 settings all via the adjustable Electronic digital clutch settings control on the base of the drill body. I just want to point out that the 42 different gear settings are only available in the Drive/screwing setting and not in the Hammer or Drilling settings
